SPAIN TRIP
An international trip has become the Annual feature for the students of DPS-MIS. After the hectic and grueling exam schedule, a group of 62 students and seven teachers left for Spain on 26th of March, 2010 on an educational cum excursion trip.
Spain located in the Iberian Peninsula is a country in western Europe famous for its colourful bull fights, beautiful castles, historic cities, spectacular beaches, superb old buildings, from Roman aqueducts and Islamic palaces to Gothic cathedrals
Madrid the capital city of Spain is a cosmopolitan city, a business center, headquarters for the Public Administration, Government, Spanish Parliament and the home of the Spanish Royal Family. The Royal Palace, the Cibeles, the Prado Museum which houses world’s finest art collection by such great Spanish painters as El Greco, Velázquez, Goya, Wax Museum etc in Madrid were some of the major attractions of Madrid. The children enjoyed walking through the streets and large avenues of Madrid. The students also had the opportunity to witness, a classical style of Bull fighting in Madrid -Spanish-style bullfighting also called corrida de toros (literally "race of bulls") or la fiesta ("the festival") and is highly a ritualized one , with three distinct stages, the start of each being announced by a trumpet sound.
The children were delighted to travel by high speed train from Madrid to Seville to see the 10th century castle built by the Moorish and Hapsburg dynasty. Seville is also famous for Gothic Cathedral and the Tower of Gold built by the Arabs. The city vibrates with music of every kind - from the drama of flamenco to the melancholy lyricism of the Celtic music and gaitas (bagpipes) and the colourful Flamenco Show at Seville caught everybody’s attention.
Madrid Warner Brothers theme Park away from the main capital city was another major attraction . The children had a fun filled day at the theme Park.
It was an enriching experience to know about the history and culture and food of Spain.
