DPS-Modern Indian School made a clean sweep of the prizes at this year’s 1^st tournament of the Qatar Schools Debating League (QSDL)-Saqr.  The DPSMIS teams debated against schools such as Park house, BPS, Cambridge, American school and some very good independent schools for four rounds on various topics such as the banning of reality TV and eating meat, replacement of teachers by computers and providing an option of death penalty to convicts sentenced to life imprisonment. The best team trophy was bagged by the team consisting of Pavithra, Omar Sultan and Yuvraj Singh while the second best team prize was bagged by the team consisting of Saadiyah Mukadam, Abhilasha Saini and Afreen Rahman.

In the individual speaker prizes category Afreen Rehman bagged the best speaker trophy while Abhilasha Saini 2^nd best speaker Saadiyah 5th best speaker,Omar 7^th best speaker, and Pavithra 8^th best speaker.  Two class 12 students-Savinay Nangalia and Rakshit Akshay Jha and  a teacher- Mr.Umesh Kumar also trained as judges.  The school coach Mrs. Naaz Hafiz was exhilarated at her teams’ performance in the league. The principal has congratulated the school team on their wonderful performance.

It was a very educative event for all the students.
