DPS-MIS student leaders take charge (Investiture Ceremony) - Senior School  



DPS-Modern Indian School held the Investiture Ceremony at a solemn function held in the School recently. Senior students from classes X, XI and XII were selected to lead as heads of the students’ Council, Prefectorial Body and as Directors of various activities. The newly inducted leaders were elected after a rigorous campaign and students voted for them in a fair and healthy environment.

The evening function began with a recitation from the Glorious Quran. The School choir rendered rhythmic songs, followed by a short cultural programme.

The Guests of honour Mr. Eric Fry, Director of Student Affairs WCMC-Q, and Dr. Phyllis (Senior Lecturer in Biology- WCMC-Q) graced the occasion. DPS-MIS Senior President Mr. Hasan Chogule welcomed the guests and students with words of praise and encouragement to think positive and always have the aim to achieve in future.

Mr. Eric and Dr. Phyllis administered the oath to the appointees and were highly appreciative of them. “The role of leaders is to inspire and give good examples to others...” said Dr. Phyllis, while Mr. Eric Fry in his amazing speech urged students to jump high and not to forget the parachutes (teachers and parents) , as they are the reasons for all their achievements and all round developments. Newly appointed Head Boy Anshuman Sahoo and Head Girl Devika Rajeev made their first maiden speech as they took charge of their assignment and assured all of their fidelity to serve before self and with a difference!

Also present for the occasion were DPS-MIS senior Vice President Mr. Yasir Nainar, Vice President Mr. Rocky Fernandes, Joint Treasurer Mr. Azim Abbas, Joint Secretary Mr. Harish Kanjani, Principal Ms. S Mattu, Headmistress Ms. Vinaya, Activity coordinator Ms. Mou Bera, school officials, Parents, students and students Alumni.
