| DPS-Modern Indian School organised the fourth edition of the DPS-MUN
on the 28th and 29th of October in person. The honorable chief guest of
this event was Mr. Yasir Nainar, vice president of DPS-Modern Indian
School. The theme for the conference was “Peace, Justice and Strong
Institutions” - the 16th Sustainable Development Goal. |
| It aims to significantly reduce all forms of violence, exploitation,
trafficking and all forms of violence against children, at the national
and international levels. The 2-day conference had 7 committees: ECOSOC,
UNODC, UNSC, GA3, GA6, SDG-16, and UNHRC, tackling diverse contemporary
socio-political issues. The MUN conference saw active participation from
delegates from various schools, such as DeBakey High School, DPS-Monarch
International School, Swiss International School and MES. |
| The opening and closing ceremonies were graced by Ms. Asna Nafees,
Principal, DPS – Modern Indian School, Ms. Soma Bhattacharjee, Vice
Principal Senior Secondary School, Ms. Mary Hyacinth, Vice Principal
Senior School, Ms. Shifa Parvez Shaikh, Vice Principal Junior School. |
| The fourth edition of DPS-MUN was especially refreshing as no
in-person conferences took place for a couple years due to the pandemic.
The directors, executives, the chairs and the admins did an excellent
job in creating the perfect environment to facilitate meaningful
discussions amongst the delegates. The delegates had a first-hand
experience of how cooperation, mutual understanding and diplomacy could
help solve global issues and were encouraged to come up with solutions
alongside their colleagues. It was a memorable experience that certainly
enriched all the people involved in making this MUN a grand success! |
