DPS-Modern Indian School Debaters Shine at Qatar Debate BP Open 2024
The QatarDebate BP Open 2024 tournament took center stage on October 4-5 at the prestigious Hamad Bin Khalifa University, bringing together 32 teams from various renowned universities and schools from all over the country in a display of remarkable talent and intense competition.
Representing DPS Modern Indian School, a hub of debate excellence, were four formidable teams: Team Surya Kauthik and Nikkil Dcruz, Team Archit Chhikara and Aryaman Adhlakha, Team Ishant Datta and Aaryan Sujith and Team Avani Mondhe and Saara Bhardwaj. All teams made a strong impression throughout the tournament.
All four DPSMIS teams qualified for the School Finals showcasing their outstanding debating skills. The team of Avani Mondhe and Saara Bhardwaj emerged victorious, clinching the title of School Champions in the finals with the latter being recognized as the Best Speaker. Meanwhile, the duo of Surya Kauthik and Nikkil Dcruz secured an impressive 4th place in the open category, highlighting their exceptional performance in a highly competitive field.
Individually, Surya Kauthik was not just the Best School Speaker but also achieved an impressive 7th position in the Open Speaker category. Nikkil Dcruz followed closely, securing the title of 2nd Best School Speaker and placing 8th in the Open Speaker category. Furthermore, three other DPS speakers, namely Ishant Datta (3rd), Aaryan Sujith (4th) and Archit Chhikara (5th) showcased their exceptional abilities, securing positions in the top 5 school speakers’ category.
The QatarDebate BP Open was not only a battleground of intellect and skill but also a celebration of the spirit of debate and discourse. With its impressive performance, DPS Modern Indian School solidified its reputation as a powerhouse of talent and determination, making a significant impact on the national debating platform.
