A Triumphant Start: DPS-MIS Crowned Champions and Runners-Up at Qatar Debate British Parliamentary Open Tournament Open 2025-26
The 2025–26 Debate Season began with resounding success for DPS-Modern Indian School at the Qatar Debate British Parliamentary Open Tournament, held on the 3rd and 4th of October at Qatar University. Competing against 76 school and university teams from Qatar, Kenya, Uganda, and the Kurdistan Foundation, DPS-Modern Indian School proudly emerged as both the School Champions and Runners-Up.
The school was represented by six teams, guided by teachers Ms. Asha Kurian, Ms. Sheeba Mathew, Mr. Varghese Justin, and Mr. Dipin Joseph and Ms. Nida Farooq. Three teams—Ishant Datta & Aaryan Sujith, Saara Bhardwaj & Aarav Singh, and Jude Christy Anil & Mohamed Shamil—advanced to the semifinals, with DPS MIS IA (Ishant & Aaryan) and DPS MIS AS (Saara & Aarav) reaching the finals.
DPS MIS IA claimed the Championship title, while DPS MIS AS finished as Runners-Up. Saara Bhardwaj was named Best Speaker of the Finals, and both Saara Bhardwaj and Ishant Datta ranked as the 6th Best School Speakers.
The outstanding performance of the debaters once again reaffirmed DPS-Modern Indian School’s reputation as a leading institution for excellence in communication, reasoning, and leadership.
