The Debate Club organized a two-day Debate Workshop for students of Grades VII F, VII G,VII H , VII I and VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, VIII D on 19th and 23rd October 2025 conducted by Mr. Justin Varghese, Ms. Sheeba Mathew, Ms. Dais Maria, and Ms. Azra Shaikh Patel, under the expert guidance of Ms. Asha Kurian, Debate Club Coordinator. The workshop aimed to introduce young learners to the art of debating while strengthening their reasoning, communication, and public speaking skills.

Designed to familiarize students with the Qatar Debate format, the sessions emphasized critical thinking, motion analysis, and structured argumentation. Through interactive activities, the facilitators encouraged teamwork and logical expression, enabling students to present their ideas clearly and confidently. Activities such as “Just a Minute” and the “Parachute Game” helped participants practice quick thinking, persuasive speaking, and coherent delivery. The trainers also explained the roles of Proposition and Opposition teams, the use of Points of Information (POIs), and the importance of clarity and time management.

The workshop proved to be an enriching experience that not only built students’ confidence but also inspired them to think independently, listen respectfully, and engage in constructive dialogue — laying a strong foundation for future debaters of the school.
